LA Dance Shorts 2017
The first annual film festival was held at the Lyric Hyperion in Silver Lake on June 24th!
LA Dance Shorts 2018
June - Los Angeles Dance Shorts Film Festival moved to the spacious and unique Mimoda Studio in Mid-City for the second annual film festival!
October - In collaboration with the California Heritage Museum in Santa Monica, LA Dance Shorts curated "Dance Films on the Lawn" a free event featuring local makers of dance films.
LA Dance Shorts 2019
June - The film festival held its annual festival at Mimoda Studio for the second year and gathered the next day at Radiant Space an art gallery in Hollywood with participating filmmakers for a panel discussion that was free and open to the public.
LA Dance Shorts 2020
November - Due to Covid-19 the film festival was postponed from June to November and moved online with two programs! Los Angeles Dance Shorts Film Festival had a successful virtual program and roughly quintupled its audience per screening. The festival also held two Zoom discussions with participating Filmmakers that were also open to the public.
LA Dance Shorts 2021
November - LA Dance Shorts was lucky enough to be back in person at Mimoda Studio with a full theater! The festival was also held virtually as well and had a Zoom discussion with participating filmmakers.
December - In collaboration with StandardVision, one of the films was presented with an award by the StandardVision team. An excerpt of the chosen film was screened on a large-scale media facade on the outside of the Mariott at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles!
LA Dance Film Fest 2022
Los Angeles Dance Shorts Film Festival became an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and made the name change to Los Angeles Dance Film Festival! LA Dance Film Fest was previously run by Betsy Uhler Colombo, Lex Roman, Maritza Navarro & Felicia Guzman.
September - In collaboration with the California Heritage Museum in Santa Monica, the film festival curated "Dance Films on the Lawn" a free event featuring local makers of dance films.
November - LA Dance Film Fest held its annual film festival at Mimoda Studio with a “sold out” audience and a great turnout of filmmakers. The festival was also held virtually and featured a Zoom talk/panel discussion with participating filmmakers.
December - In collaboration with StandardVision, one of the films was presented with an award by the StandardVision team. An excerpt of the chosen film was screened on a large-scale media facade on the outside of the Mariott at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles!

December - In collaboration with StandardVision, three films were presented with awards by the StandardVision team. Excerpts of the selected films were screened on a large-scale media facade on the outside of the Mariott at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles!
